TitanReach is a third person shooter that has a similar mechanic to Borderlands, Quake Live and other games. You can create your own character and customize it to your liking. The game also supports skins, which can be changed for a small cost. The game features a small amount of RPG elements, which are really basic. The gameplay is pretty typical for a shooter, with a very slow-paced pace. The game features a single-player story mode, as well as a cooperative multiplayer mode.

TitanReach, the new free-to-play MMORPG from Eidos Montreal, is going free-to-play for a limited time. Check out this FAQ for answers to some common questions.

If the hefty price of TitanReach’s early access ($70) sounded excessive for a budding MMO, you may be relieved by Square Root Studios’ newest announcement: the game’s early access will be free-to-play after all, at least until the closed alpha starts (which again might give you pause that you were previously paying for an early access that was really a pre-alpha).

As of August 1st, the business claims it will stop selling early access and stop distributing the cosmetics and prizes that come with it. However, the sale of early access is being replaced with presale packs for the closed alpha. There are no prices listed.

“The Early Access phase of development will be Free to Play on August 1st at 10 a.m., Sydney time (GMT+10)! That implies that anybody having a TitanReach account will be able to play for free until the Closed Alpha starts. This will not only enable more people to play the game, but it will also allow those of you who have supported us but lacked the financial means to do so. […] “ Limited edition packs for the Closed Alpha will be available on the shop at the same time as the Early Access becomes free to play. The Closed Alpha will be available in three packs until October 1st: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. If you bought the Closed Alpha before the packs went live on the shop, you’ll be immediately upgraded to the Bronze pack for free. Each pack will include a variety of products, some of which will be limited edition and will not be available after the sale. On August 1st, check the TitanReach website for additional details on what is included!”

TitanReach launched an unsuccessful $430,000 US Kickstarter, then announced intentions for a fixed-funding Indiegogo that never materialized, despite the fact that the company claimed its financial condition was urgent. Instead, the studio launched a crowd-funding platform, which was quickly followed by controversy over a secretly deleted statement regarding working conditions and compensation. It started a $70 early access period in March, and Square Root claims it currently has 16 devs working on the game ahead of its anticipated release in 2022.
