Previously released for PC, Ship of Fools is now out on Android and iOS! In this co-op game from the makers of Crowntakers – “a procedurally generated pirate adventure” – four players embark upon a journey to hunt down the menacing Kraken terrorizing their island.
“Ship of Fools is a co-op seafaring roguelite full of sea monsters, island exploration, and loot.”.
What if a game like Barotrauma or We Have to Go Deeper combined risky co-op sea exploration with a roguelite in the manner of Conan Chop Chop? Then you’ve definitely heard about Ship of Fools, a future two-player game from Team17 and freshly minted indie developer Fika Productions that promises to bring all kinds of joy and damage to the Aquapocalypse. The following is a summary from the game’s press kit:
“In a nutshell, Ship of Fools is a game about defending your ship while blasting away at your seaborne adversaries with enormous weapons. You’ll want to bring your first mate on deck and enjoy oarsome combat as you unlock new trinkets and artifacts to help you save the world from the almighty Aquapocalypse…” Inspired by modern classic roguelites and built for co-op, you’ll want to bring your first mate on deck and enjoy oarsome combat as you unlock new trinkets and artifacts to help you save the world from the almighty Aquapocaly
Ship of Fools players will have to combat seaborne terrors with cannons and other weaponry both on and off the ship, all while landing on isolated islands for riches and controlling damage to the Stormstrider boat.
Ship of Fools will be published for PC and consoles later this year, but it can already be wishlisted on Steam, and a demo video below shows off some of the enormous and little creatures that players will encounter.
