As of March 16th 2018, Quake Champions is in open beta, and players that are interested in experiencing the game on both PC and Xbox One can do so. Members of the Quake Champions community on the official forums have stated that the game has been tested and has been working well, and that there is no known issues. There are however, a number of issues that are currently being discussed and debated in the community, some of them being:

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about Quake, but it looks like there are still some folks who are interested in this classic, old shooter. This week we’ve seen a series of tweets and posts regarding Quake. A lot of people are asking about the state of cross-play support for this game, and some of them are even asking for Microsoft to bring the PUBG developers onto their platform so that they can get their hands on this title, as they don’t have the tools to port the Android version themselves.

Since the dawn of video games, there’s been a consistent barrier between players. First, it was the console, then the gaming PC, and now even the mobile market can’t escape the limitations of its native device. As the industry continues to evolve, games are crossing platforms like never before. And to keep up with this, developers are making strides to bring their games to as many platforms as possible — without losing the essence of the game.. Quake Crossplay - What to Know About Cross-Platform Support

When it comes to id Software’s iconic first-person shooter, Quake crossplay isn’t something that springs to mind right away. It was first released 25 years ago, at a time when cross-platform compatibility was not a priority for everyone and the business was arguably a simpler place.

However, it is this 25th anniversary that has reintroduced Quake crossplay into the spotlight. To mark the occasion, the game has gotten a surprise update that not only improves the visuals, but also includes a new MachineGames episode, split-screen multiplayer, and other cool features, as well as enabling cross-platform compatibility.

The update is free for PC owners, but Quake has now found its way to last-gen consoles and will be available shortly for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. Crossplay, as described by the creator, “is accessible on all platforms, so you can play Quake with anybody.”

As a result, Quake’s cross-platform compatibility now includes PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. Using the game’s room code system is the fastest method to join a crossplay match with your friends. Pre-game lobbies include a four-letter code that you may share with others, giving them immediate access to the lobby.

“On certain systems, cross-play may be blocked at the system level,” according to the developer, which is why it’s a good idea to double-check your settings if you’re having difficulty entering into matches.

That’s all there is to it when it comes to Quake crossplay. The whole update was a pleasant surprise, but the inclusion of cross-platform compatibility and a brand new episode stand out. If you haven’t already, Quake is available on Steam.
