The Pokemon Go Safari Zone event for which Niantic promised players they would see a Safari Zone each day for a week. In the end, they only released one per day. At least, until the event is over. It appears the company has changed the plans for the remaining events. They’re going to be a little more fair.
At some point in the near future, Safari Zones will be introduced in Pokemon Go. Safari Zones are new areas that Pokemon can be found in based on their location in the real world. So, if you’re in the South, on the West Coast, or in Northern Canada, you’ll be able to find Pokemon in your Safari Zone.
Despite the criticism and continuing hashtag nonsense, Niantic is still attempting to get Pokemon GO players outdoors, but it’s doing so in a hybrid way for now. The initial 2020 Safari Zones were scheduled to begin in-person in March 2020, during what would later become COVID-19 lockdown times, causing the activities to be both postponed and active, as participants were able to complete them from the comfort of their own homes. This essentially implies that Safari Zone ticket holders will get the event twice, with one portion of it possibly taking place in person if the ticket holder opts for that option.
Players who wish to physically attend the event must RSVP in advance, depending on which ticket they presently have, according to the blog post outlining the event plan. Ticket holders who do not want to attend may still participate from the comfort of their own homes. There will be no more tickets available for the event, so if you already got a refund or missed out on sales, you’re out of luck. However, there is one event that has yet to be rescheduled.
The Pokemon Day event in 2020 has yet to be rescheduled after being canceled in South Korea, Japan, and Italy. The Armored Mewtwo, which has seen some usage in PvP leagues, as well as the Nidorino and Gengar Party hat versions, have never been caught by these players. We’ve contacted PR to see whether this event will be postponed as well, and we’ll update this post if we hear anything new.
