I have been a fan of VR games since the Oculus DK1 days. The genre has been stagnant for the past few years in the form of the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive. But now, a MMORPG has risen out of the ashes of the failed Kickstarter for Ilysia, a VR MMORPG that was developed by Troika Games. The game is coming to PC and the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive in the first part of 2017, and the developers have revealed that the game will be free to play, and they will be introducing micro-transactions. If you want to learn more about the game, you can check out the Kickstarter update here .

Privateer Software has launched closed alpha testing for its immersive VR MMORPG Ilysia from the comfort of your own home. I’m sure you’re excited to put in some time exploring Ilysia’s world of dark fantasy and mythical powers. However, before you go to download Ilysia’s public alpha build, there are a few things you should know.

Everybody wants to play a game that offers them the opportunity to explore a virtual world and immerse themselves in this imaginary world that they want to explore. The problem is that most of these games are too hard for the casual gamer to enjoy. The goal of the game is to encourage everyone to play it, and also help out on the development of the game.

MMO players will remember that this was the second most successful MMO Kickstarter of 2020; Team 21 Studio pitchedIlysia as a traditional VR-centric MMO inspired by classic MMORPGs like World of WarcraftandEverQuest, where players can relive the glory days of MMORPGs. News of the alpha version has been posted on Discord: The closed alpha 1 for Ilysia from our Kickstarter campaign officially launched today! We’re very excited that people can finally get into the game and see what we’ve been working on since the pre-alpha phase ended. We’ve already seen a few people broadcast their game on the alpha, and I expect YouTube videos to appear soon! We want to thank each of you for always being there and supporting our cause. It’s been a long road to this point, and we look forward to continuing to develop the game and filling it with content to bring it to Alpha 2 and beyond! According to Team 21, about 1,200 people have signed up for this testing phase, which will continue for some time before we officially enter the beta phase. The studio has hinted that beta registration may open at a later date if more participants are needed.
