With the launch of the next Elite Specialization slated for tomorrow, we’ve been given a look at some of the abilities and weapons that will be included in this new and exclusive class. At the moment it looks like we’re going to see a new healer, a new warrior and a new guardian. The leaked files included in the datamining have shown us a few things: ** NOTE: This is a vague interpretation of the leaked files, and is definitely not a final judgment of the abilities and weapons
One of the most popular games on the planet, Guild Wars 2 is one of the most anticipated titles of the year. To make sure fans are able to experience everything the game has to offer, developer ArenaNet has announced that it is bringing the game’s first expansion, Heart of Thorns, to multiple platforms, including consoles. Now, thanks to an anonymous tipster, we have some additional details on the expansion’s content.
There seems to be a theme in the leaked files for the next elite spec: the warrior. It has been previously reported that these elite specs were revealed in news that ArenaNet posted on Facebook; however, that was before the leaked filenames were discovered. Even then, the class was not given a name. There is a particular set of filenames, however, that read like a list of class weapons and the name “Warrior.”
ArenaNet is ready to keep building anticipation for more Guild Wars 2 elite specs, starting with the latest teaser image, which shows a Norn-shaped character who was hit in the face by a balloon filled with yellow paint, prompting him to draw a weapon that looks like a cross between a gunblade and a katana.
Naturally, there will be a lot of conjecture. Some fans think this is a tease for the Engineer class, and that the weapon is an unique kind of pistol weapon (because the Engi can already use pistols), but the gunblade silhouette is certainly raising a lot of questions and pointing to a Warrior spec.
Engineer pistols are one of the weapons seen in leaked chatcodes of gear containers, which reveal various weapons that each class will be able to use after End of Dragons launches, albeit Engineers can currently use handguns. If you want to get spoiled even more, follow the link, or just wait for ANet to reveal what’s next in due time. To put it another way, even knowing those spoilers doesn’t always make everything obvious.
“Providing a better WvW experience is more important to me than the money we earn from server transfers,” one of the game’s developers said in response to a player’s worry in the official Discord regarding WvW development after the global reorganization is complete.
