The game was released in November 2018 and had its own blockchain, but it went offline last month. Hi-Rez has now confirmed that the game is back online after a planned upgrade to the backend of Global Agenda’s universal wallet for all players..
The “global agenda 2” is a game that was released in 2012, and then it was taken off the market. Hi-Rez has confirmed that the game will be back on the market for now.
In the segment of the MMO community who loved it, Global Agenda has long been a lament. It was a free-to-play MMO shooter from Hi-Rez Studios that debuted in 2010 and was supposed to get a sequel at one point, but it was taken offline in 2018; we wrote back then that it “wasn’t so much canceled as it was ignored out of existence,” and Hi-Rez took it off Steam and then admitted it “did not survive a multi-game internet center move/upgrade.” It was effectively defunct.
Then, last year, we obtained a smidgeon of information indicating that Hi-Rez could be working on a sequel, or at the very least stating so in order to maintain its trademark.
And now… who could have predicted this? Yesterday, gamers discovered that the game’s Discord server was up and running, and that it included your previous characters as well. If you still have your Steam install with your original account details, you can jump straight in, but if you don’t, you’ll have to attempt one of the various methods given in the Discord’s install help channel.
Hi-Rez’s Stewart Chisam confirmed that Hi-Rez had got it back up and online, though it was apparently intended for an internal crew, so it’s not clear how long it will be available for players. “We duct-taped together a Global Agenda server on a potato server (no small feat) for a small test and somehow people found it,” he says. “Made for a nostalgic evening 🙂 Was a great game.”
Chisam got onto the server last night, according to one of our tipsters, and assured the group of 100-plus gamers that they weren’t intended to find it, but that the studio would keep the servers up as long as it could.
Maybe if you show them it’s desired, they’ll put in a little more than a potato to keep it alive!

Grillbs Agent, the player who found it out, deserves a lot of credit!
